Nora Ramsey

Nora Ramsey is currently a post-graduate student studying Musicology at Newcastle University and has a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the School of Information at Syracuse University. Nora is employed as an archival assistant at the Newcastle University Special Collections and also serves on the Board of Directors of an Alabama non-profit, Rocket City Civil Rights (RCCR). As the Archives and Special Collections Coordinator at RCCR, she collaborates with historians, librarians, and the community to provide equal access to civil rights documents. Nora has completed extensive coursework in archives preservation and management as well as cultural heritage preservation. Nora’s post-graduate dissertation exists at the intersection of Library Science and Musicology, where she introduces epistemic injustice and epistemicide to the musicological field through a study of American blues historiography. Nora is currently researching acoustemology through the lens of epistemic injustice.
