Opened in 1883, St Paul's Church of Springfield Road, Sale, stands by the Bridgewater Canal. The parish of St Paul's came into being in 1881 when services were held at St Anne's Mission Hall, Cambridge Street, Manchester. Although the church was built in the early 80s, the tower wasn't added until two decades later. In the recent history of St Paul's, there have been multiple renovations, with the tower being one of these, totalling £40,000. There is a plaque commemorating the physicist and mathematician James Prescott Joule, a former worshipper at the church. The current reverend of the church is a Rebecca Mathew (2024).
