Renold Theatre (UMIST)

The Renold Building was opened in 1962 and the Barnes Wallis Building in 67, both on Altrincham Street in Manchester. The Barnes Wallis building is now known as the Wright Robinson Hall. This building was home to the UMIST students union and would host many famous bands from the late 1960s to the end of the 80s, with the likes of The Who, Dr Feelgood, and Def Leppard. Before 67, either the Renold Building was used, or there was a separate theatre on the same street, which there's no suggestion of. The Renold Building has lecture theatres, with its biggest capacity being 524, seminar rooms, and an exhibition space, but it seems strange that it'd be there. There is very little information on a Renold Theatre being in Manchester, but there is some when it comes to performances.
