Clement Gerrard

Born in 1887 in Swinton, Clement Thomas Gerrard was a builder and organist. The son of Jonathan Gerrard, the builder of one of the largest firms of its kind, Gerrards of Swinton, Clement was a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists. He was also on the committee responsible for a new tune book. Herbert Shaw Gerrard, Clement's brother, actually studied at Hartley College, which ultimately became Hartley Hall.
