R Quinn and Son Records (Salford)
Started in 1913, initially selling tobacco and then progresses to sheet music and later records. The business was started after Richard Quinn, who at the time worked as tram conductor, won a dispute with a local newspaper after they printed an article claiming his wife had been removed from a tram due to drunken and disorderly behaviour. Richard’s wife was on the tram, but not the lady ejected
The business moved from records to electricians, mostly TV and audio until it closed in 1994, due to the, popular at the time (in some circles), pastime of "Ram Raiding”. Three in one year left the business uninsurable.
