Bogart's Wine Bar (Stockport)

Sent in by Phil: Bogart’s Wine Bar was situated on Princes Street in Stockport town centre; it is now Jake's Shoe Shop. I think it closed down in the late 80s/early 90s. Bogart's attracted a cosmopolitan mix of punks, goths, new romantics, rockabillys, etc and was a meeting place for everyone before setting off for whichever nightclub you were destined for. Occasionally there was a DJ on. I think this usually happened on a Sunday night, and it was always packed out . Bogart's was the best bar in Stockport - sadly missed.
