This was an old Hippy/Bikers' club, on Kennedy Street corner just off Albert Square. Though I do not know the year of opening, it finally closed in 1973 after the new breed of Ziggy Stardust fans came and changed the whole make-up of the club, resulting in the police moving in to break up fights.
In 1972c it cost around 20p entrance with a meal included. The dancefloor was the size of a postage stamp.
The Floyd and other 10 minute spaced-out tracks were played to a background of acid-induced wall paintings, meat pies and wacky baccy.
It's nickname was Auntie's, named after Auntie's Kitchen - Arlo Guthrie and all that.
It was a favourite haunt of The Crown Pub residents and a very far-out place, as we use to say.
