Tabernacle Club (Stockport)

Sent in by Bernard Roberts: The Tabernacle Club in the 1967/68/69 venue for many chart-topping bands. More interestingly, it was paramount in the development of Northern Soul: its music, its style, the people, the way of life. The Tab and the Sinking Ship Club were the venues that the mods frequented where styles were created to take to Manchester (The Twisted Wheel).
