The precursor to the famous Twisted Wheel. Opened in the late 1950s as a kind of Mancunian existentialist hang-out, popular with Jazz freaks. Would promote itself in Evening news ads by having the legend - "Free for groovy Chicks before ten pm" The Abbadi brothers mutated it into the Twisted Wheel wehn Beat music started becoming more popular than Jazz and the rest is history
