New Form

All the band members were from Hulme. Bernard Metcalfe-vocals Willie Metcalfe-bass. Terry Massey-guitar. Joe Sullivan-drums. Just a local band that played a few gigs, the Hulme carnival, The Factory, being the plum gigs. The name changed more than the gigs played. NU-FORM, New-Form78, No-Future, at times some members played with members of ESCALATER, also a Hulme band. the only member who carried on in any musical way was Terry Massey, mostly writing & recording. NEW-FORM actually would inspire several people that went on from Hulme into music, im not in full memory mode but Vic, later Victor joined NEW-FORM as rhythm guitarist briefly and his own band would go on to sign for Chrysalis, i think Chrysalis folded before their album was finished? Another local also would get up and guest vocal with NEW-FORM was FRANNY, the black kid who was a fan and you could hear him playing mouth organ in the crescents, he later played hi own gigs. FRANNY EUBANK i think was his full name. I believe NEW-FORM acquired their equipment from other bands that played and rehearsed in Manchester,maybe. (Submitted by Terry Massey on 04/12/12)
