Suicide Kicks were a trashy punk/glam band formed in Warrington in 1987 by Al Crosby & Spider Cullen.
They split in 1989 when Al moved to London, but reformed in Manchester a year later with a line-up of Dave Jenks - lead vox, Al Crosby - lead & rhythm guitar & vox, Pete Scott - rhythm & lead guitar & vox, Phil Scott - bass & vox, and Spider Cullen - drums.
Spider was booted out in '91 and was replaced by Mark (can't remember surname!). Pete & Phil left in '92, and were replaced by Paul & Brian (surnames missing!) and finally Mark was replaced on drums in early '93 by Simon Haydn.
It was the nucleus of Al & Simon, with the addition of Foz & then Sam who effectively turned the punky/trash/glam of Suicide Kicks into the full on punk band Born Idle.
Suicide Kicks played a lot of gigs, and recorded several demos during the '87-'93 period. They were actually the first ever band to play at Rockworld, having been booked to open for the Wildhearts at the club's first ever live gig. The Wildhearts pulled out at the last minute & Suicide Kicks played the gig on their own.
