Burnage singer/guitarist Norman Hume formed a blues group called "Morning After" in 1967. They gigged regularly during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
The group featured vocalist/harmonica player Brian Marks on several occasions culminating in a monumental performance at The Buxton Opera House that received a glowing review in the N.M.E.
Later Norman joined The Victor Brox Blues Train playing a variety of gigs. Victor played an important role in Norman's career christening him "Beaker" after the Neolithic "Beaker people" who Victor believed Norman resembled.
One night on stage he introduced him as Norman Beaker and the rest is history.
