Lawrence Green has sent us: "Basic info for JSRSRB - more to follow: Founded in 1976 with original members Baz Stopford (guitar), Frank Ollerenshaw (drums), Mick Hucknall (vocals), Lawrence Green (bass), Mark Reeder (guitar). Frank Ollerenshaw was replaced by Steve Tansley and Mick Hucknall by Colin Ward within a year. Tansley left with Reeder and Hucknall to form Frantic Elevators but returned quickly. First gigs (with Tansley and Hucknall) around 1976. Regular gigging started in 1977 with a Tansley, Stopford, Ward, Green line-up that continued - with several breaks - through to 1990. Road crew - crucially important and 5th and 6th members of the band - were Andy Millar and Steve Hinde. The former stayed with the band throughout its existence, the latter's work commitments implied an ealier departure. The last gigs (around '88-'90) included Key Pugh (formerly of Dealer with Rennie on drums) and session player Paul ? on keyboards. A mass of recorded material remains but much is of poor quality (original masters have been lost). If anybody is interested, selected tracks are available in digital format." (Submitted 19.07.07)
