Beach Red

No boigraphical info yet but Nick Carroll remembers; "Beach Red were the original Happy Mondays but were only a couple of years before their time and ten years before Oasis' time. They supported New Order at one of New Orders first gigs, at the Ritz. The first time I encountered them was at a night at the Venue on Whitworth St. I was being mithered by an aggresive drunk who was slagging the band off who were about to take the stage. The band took the stage and asked if anyone knew where their singer was. They then proceded to do an instrumental, at that point I realised that my drunken "friend" was in fact the singer! He eventually got on stage and just shouted 'fuck off' repeatedly down the microphone and had a fight with at least two members of the band and a couple of members of the audience. His gripe was that a member of the band was in prison and had been replaced by a temporary guitarist. Now that's rock 'n roll !"
