Militia
Militia was formed by 14 year old Peter Flanagan at Ashton Under Lyne Grammar school in 1978 and after a couple of line up changes the final line up was Peter Flanagan (Flannel) drums , Graham Atkinson (Aky) guitar , Michael Raven (Pod) - Bass, Hazy - Vocsls, Louise Flanagan- Keyboard. The band recorded one song - Confused - for the Ten From The Madhouse compilation album recorded at Graveyard studios in 1980 and disbanded shortly after. Aky and Flannel went on to be in The Hoax in 1982, Flannel then joined Lavolta Lakota, Emergency (recording a debut single Points Of View at Cargo in 1983) and several other Tameside bands in the 80s. Aky went on to play bass in Molly Half Head and the Chameleons offshoot band The Sun and The Moon. Pod went on to be a successful local gig promoter.
