We formed in 1978 and played our first gig a week later at Hazel Grove Youth Centre with a set that consisted of four Buzzcocks songs and Paranoid by Black Sabbath, (we did it fast before The Dickies did- bastards! )
Then Paul and I started writing our own stuff and we played Hazel Grove on a regular basis. At that time is was impossible to get gigs anywhere else as a "punk" band so we hired St Mary's Church Hall ourselves as a one-off. It went well so we did it again and Security Force (who hated us with a passion) played support.
By this time we had an extra guitarist, Tony, but not long after recruiting him, we split up.
We got together again (minus Tony) for a gig at "The Starlight Suite" in 1982. Ray Teret, the owner, had never heard us play but we'd told him we could fill the place so we got the gig. In the event, we'd been double booked with a set of teenage dancers and a disco. Our set decended into druken chaos, Ray Teret called the police, we left sharpish and that was the end of The Pedestrians.
