The Avengers

This was an early sixties band from the Rochdale area. Trevor (Tinner) Lear ( lead guitar and vocals) Brian (Gic) Lucketti (bass) Dave Farnell (drums) John Gilbert (vocals) Played many local gigs in the Rochdale area, Cubi Club, Three Cellars, Lower Chambers, Fire Station, Pyramid, etc. Managed by Tony Hayes, Stuart Littlewood in the early days. Split around 1968 and members joined other bands, Pepper Tree, Reg James Explosion, Fly be Nites. Other Rochdale bands around at the time were The Damp, The Blue Notes, Travellers, Four Suspects.
