Terry Usher

Terence Fletcher Usher (1909-69) first studied the plectrum guitar and developed an interest in the classical guitar after attending a performance by Andrés Segovia in the late 1930s. In 1946, Usher and his pupil John W. Duarte (1919-2004) founded the Manchester Guitar Circle, a society that remains active in 2024. In addition to his activities as a performer, broadcaster and recording artist, Terry Usher was a regular contributor to BMG magazine and the US-based Guitar Review.
