Rachel Speirs is a Scottish soprano and graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music. During her time studying, she won the Joyce and Michael Kennedy Award for the singing of Strauss in 2019, then the Betty Bannerman Award for French Song the following year. Rachel was also a finalist in the Elizabeth Harwood Memorial Prize during 2020. On top of singing in multiple operas for the likes of English National Opera and English Touring Opera, to name a few, Rachel is passionate about sharing her gift in community settings, which includes the Royal Opera House Create and Sing Programme, the Wigmore Hall Music for Life programme, and SoundUp, Manchester, where she is Co-Director. SoundUp is a community outreach company that focuses on helping people with dementia through creative resources and activities.
