Ronan O'Hora
Born in Manchester in 1964, Ronan O'Hora, a former student of the Royal Northern College of Music, is a pianist that has performed in many countries, playing in such orchestras as the BBC Symphony, London Philharmonic, Hallé Orchestra, Netherlands Radio Chamber, Queensland Philharmonic, and many more. While overseas, Ronan has also worked with a lot of leading conductors, such as Hans Vonk, James Judd, and Sir Yehudi Menuhin, to name just three, as well as having performed at many highly noted festivals like Montpelier, Harrogate, and Gstaad, with the list being much more extensive. During his time at the RNCM, Ronan studied under Professor Ryszard Bakst, the Polish virtuoso. This is reflected in Ronan's international career, multiple regarded recordings, and also in the awards he's received, these being the Dayas Gold Medal, Silver Medal of the Worshipful Company of Musicians, and the Stefania Niekrasz prize for his dedication to the work of Chopin. Ronan is currently in London as the Head of Keyboard Studies and Head of Advanced Performance Studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
