Who would have thought that an old warehouse in Stockport's backstreets might become temporary home to a diverse range of musicians (Hotlegs, Syd Lawrence, 10cc, Barclay James Harvest, Neil Sedaka, Buzzcocks, Joy Division, New Order, The Smiths, Simply Red, The Charlatans, Martin Hannett and many, many others) whilst they recorded hit after hit there from the late 1960s to the1990s? Peter Wadsworth of Manchester University is writing a PhD on Stockport's legendary Strawberry Recording Studios.
