'Joy Division' - The Documentary, directed by Grant Gee, will show at Vue Cinemas, Salford Quays, as part of Salford Film Festival on Tuesday 27th November at 8.30pm.
Featuring interviews with the surviving band members, and contributions from Lesley Gilbert, Alan Hempsall, Jez Kerr and Malcolm Whitehead amongst others, the film examines the band’s story as depicted through never-before-seen live performance footage, personal photos, period films and newly discovered audio tapes.
'Joy Division' chronicles a time of great social and political change, and how the group managed to transcend economic and cultural barriers to produce an enduring musical legacy. Interviews were conducted by Jon Savage.
This showing of 'Joy Division' will be opened by Peter Hook.
