I really enjoy that MDMA site. The other day they unearthed a roll of photobooth shots of me and Rob Gretton, back when we were 16 years old and still at school together!
“Liverpool Polytechnic punk concert October 7th 1977, The Buzzcocks, The Skunks the New Hearts and possibly John Cooper Clark were on the schedule that night.
As punk concerts around the North of England grew more popular through 1977, October saw the beginning of a different type of following as the bands seemed to get tighter and the closet punks were starting to participate in the movement.

“The letter referenced at the end of the commentary was from Rob Gretton who later became the manager of Joy Division and New Order. He was also a partner in Factory Records, proprietor of the Rob's Records label and a co-founder along with Tony Wilson of The Haçienda nightclub
Rob contributed £200 to co-finance this Slaughter and the Dogs' single.”
