“1st put out by Streets Ahead in 1979 The shop also put out the Fast Cars debut and another band Pure Product.. When 1st heard the Forign Press 7" it reminded me a little of Magazine..Now Bob Jefferson from Streets Ahead tells me Forign Press (ex Emergancy) were Stretford Lads? Was there any Conection at all? I also take it Dave and John were brothers?”

“LIQUIDATORBOSSREGGAESOUNDSYSTEM!
RUDEBOY SKA PARTY
LIQUIDATORSOUNDSYSTEM PRESENTED THE RUDEBOY BLUES PARTY! @ Star & Garter, Fairfield Street, Manchester

The atmosphere of a 1960s blues party with a nice ska reggae vibe, more of a history trip from the original ska of 1964 to the revive of 2tone and punkreggae clash/ruts of the Late 70's early 80's The selection of tunes are second to none! Selectors MrMass With Guest Sugar Merchant! &Colin.

The night has a good balanced crowd of young and old that want to hear old and new classics, its not a retro night as such its lots of things rolled into one, everybody’s welcome no clique! The room is dark with a 60's feel, oil wheel inc, holds around 150 big dance floor area Great 6k sound system nice bottom end as much as you need for a room that size, good draft beers at pub prices no rip off! with a late bar, most nights have gone on till 3ish there’s a projector showing old ska/reggae films with an interesting wall display of old ska memorabilia! This is all set in the 150 year old Star and Garter, that looks as mad as castle gray skull! Night runs 10pm until 2am. Admission £4.00 (£3.00 before 11pm). For further info m.centi@ntlworld.com or www.starandgarter.co.uk
