“In the early 80's I lived a house in Withington and this was the neighbour's tune of choice to play loudly, on repeat, whenever he came in p*ssed from the pub; which was every evening.

"Matchstalks" for LS Lowry's style, though I can't find any source that suggests that anyone other B&M referred to the paintings in this way,”

“True. In going through my old tickets - an exercise prompted by wanted to load the CS / Freshies items - I'm frustrated by the design of the Apollo tickets (torn so that only the latter half of the name remains. That, however, isn't as bad as those I have from the Oxford New Theatre that just have a date on them - nothing about who was on!”

“Back in 1971 / 72 the Octagon used to host Saturday morning "Bluesology" sessions. Mostly local bands, but Warm Dust - featuring Paul Carrack - played one of the sessions.”

“I think there was another Alexandra Park "festival" in 1978 - I remember Graham Parker & The Rumour and The Smirks being on. I'd place it somewhere around the 13th July as I know we saw GP again a couple of nights later (15th) at Blackbushe.”

“It was a great concert - first time seeing 10cc and just before I went off to university (where I saw them again a couple of weeks later).

I lived in Blackpool 1972 - 74 and the Guild Hall hosted a whole raft of concerts at that time - Status Quo, Rory Gallagher, Led Zeppelin, Lindisfarne, Moody Blues....”
