“Actually I now think they are the same place. I should have checked the tickets posted on here which say New Ardi, Coupland Street.

“Thanks for that. Just checked that site. U2 played at the Poly. First on, then Pink Military, then Wah Heat! who met with the abuse, plastic "glasses" etc often given to Liverpool bands. U2 went down really well and Bono said it was their first tour and would be looking for somewhere else in Manchester to play. They must have found the Beach Club! I thought they were great then.”
