“Ow do Martin,no doubt that we've crossed paths at one time or another.........I'm Arnie the guitarist from F104.
That cab was Jason's and if it's still working it's a miracle after the punishment it got from his Rick bass and Matamp.I've passed this on to him and to Dave Smith.Dave and I are back in a band after over 30 years with a few other old codgers you might know that played local around that time.
It's great to hear of some one else that remembers us and no doubt Dave will get back on this !!

By the way Harry Pass is still around and does his shopping at Tesco in Stalybridge !!”

“Allan Walker,Prowler's vocalist passed away recently.
He was a drama and music teacher and was one of the founders of the Limelight Theatre Company in Audenshaw.
A tribute to him will be held at the Festival Hall in Hyde Tameside on the 3rd & 4th of June.
This will feature his music and excerpts from his theatre productions performed by the Limelight Theatre Company.
The two nights also has the added attraction of the 'Allan Walker Allstars' a rock band consisting of friends, musicians and old band mates of Allan's who will be performing some of his favourite classic rock songs.

We would like to celebrate the life of Allan who was a great inspiration to everyone that knew him and give back what he gave to us.
He is and will be sadly missed.

Tickets are £5 from Dee on 07919873553”

“What about the food at Waves.......You got a ticket for a free meal at the door, always burger and chips on a paper plate(no bun, just that), that looked and tasted like a deep-fried beer mat and burnt matchsticks.
And the toilets.........They did'nt have urinals, there was a length of plastic guttering hung from the ceiling with wire that emptied out through an hole in the wall to the car park below!!.God knows what the 'Ladies' were like !!
Does anyone remember Marion ?.......She claimed to be a witch and would bite you on the arm and keep attached for half an hour as her way of a greeting.

Zacky.........I saw 'Chally' from Droylsden not long ago on Ashton Market and he's not changed much.I don't know him from Waves but from the Spread Eagle in Ashton.”

“One of my regular haunts years ago was the Commercial in Stalybridge and I was there the night Buzzcocks were on.

This was home to the Stalybridge Motorcyle Club and for obvious reasons the band and their entourage did'nt go down too well.
They were billed as 'The Buzzcutts' and Howard Devoto was soon the centre of abuse with his leopard skin tights and ballet shoes ( I think he wore a pink tutu as well). When they got on stage he announced "It's 'COCKS' actually" to which someone replied "And you're a bunch of pricks actually" They only lasted a couple of songs before getting booed off.The crowd had never seen anything like it before and were more used to seeing Fenders and Les Pauls played properly instead of a cut in half Audition from Boots The Chemist tinkering out the two note solo from 'Boredom' and the one string melody from Sinatra's 'Strangers In The Night'. For all I know McLaren,Rotten and all could have been there that night..........who knows they had a big enough following.

Quite a memorable gig.”

“Yep that's Wally alright,I've just found him on Facebook and he has'nt changed much !!

Abdom............I managed to track down Ian Chambers on Facebook of all places. We had a few chats and a couple of weeks later I was in Stalybridge and who should I bump into but Ian !!
He and his wife were over here from the States visiting his mum.I mentioned you and MDMA to him so you never know he might get in touch.”
