“Spent many a happy half hour in the late 70s in here after school sifting through rack upon rack of albums, most I’d never heard of.It was just over Black Friars Bridge, not that good for singles though which I usually found in Virgin on Lever Street, but a great place to hang out.”

“I went to this gig.Spizz definately wasn't there,I remember The Distractions and I think another band called the Mechanics. Anti Nazi League benefit. The Fall's first Peel session had only gone out the night before so it was all very exciting! The venue was my local town hall which had only ever previously been occupied by a horrendous 'disco' at night so this was a first and the last time I ever went! I think one of if not the first gig with Marc Riley?”

“Went to both of these gigs. I'd just left Lavolta Lakota before this gig which worked for them cos they got a much better drummer in! The Cocteaus were great. Yes the sound was really echoey but suited them! Liz twiddled her thumbs alot!”

“This was when it started to get harder to get tickets, my mate Brian had to shin up a drain pipe so we could pull him through a window to get in!”
