“During the benefit concert at the Mean Fiddler in London on 20th April 1997 were gigs by Tom Hingley & The Lovers and an acoustic set by Noel Gallagher (Oasis), Primal Scream and members of The Clash provided the DJ set.
Originally there was also to be live sets by Julian Cope and Levellers but both had to pull out at last minute due to other schedules.
Also in attendance on the night was Irvine Welsh, Rob Newman, Shane McGowan, Wendy James (Transvision Vamp), Anna Friel, and Dodgy.”

“Hoop La Baby first supported Baby Bird at Manchester University on Friday 3rd May 1996... After winning In The City '96 over in Dublin they then did a gig at the Camden Underworld in London and Baby Bird were one of the bands who came down to see them.
In October '96 Hoop La Baby were invited to be special guests on the Baby Bird tour of the UK, which included sell out gigs in Leeds, Hanley, Liverpool, and at London's Electric Ballroom.
On Tuesday 19th November '96 Hoop La Baby ended up playing their last ever gig at Baby Bird's homecoming end of tour gig at Sheffield Leadmill.
Their guest slot for the rescheduled Manchester gig in December at the University was taken by indie band Salad.”
