“Oh wow that's an old school mate of mine - well not really mate but I remember him well, David Nolan, who also mentions Paul Harkness who lived down the road from me. David do you remember my brother from school Joe Timmons? If you see this please message me I've read your book on Morris and have a few choice memories myself but not as many as my brother Joe who had a terrible time with him. I used to go to to Pips, The Hac and Boardwalk all the time back in the day. Great photo!”
“I was at the Orange Juice gig. They had just had a hit with 'Rip it up' and I went with my then new girlfriend. Zeke Manyika was the drummer at this point. The gig was great, although typical crappy hacienda sound. Great days, thanks for posting.”
“I still have Ted's one and only Lp somewhere, it has a great version of Elvis' Hound Dog on it. He was often played by John Peel may have even done a session cor him. Once again great post, many thanks.”
“Ah now there's a name I recognize - Bathroom Renovations. The band members were all named after toilet and bathroom manufacturers, one of them was called Armitage Shanks, the others I can't remember. They were from Sale and my mate was a synth player with them. We were on art foundation course at South Trafford College together 1979 - 1981. They were very influenced by Joy Division and may have even supported them at some point. I don't think they ever recorded anything though. Another great post thanks!”
“Amazing stuff, thanks for posting all this stuff. I remember lots of very similar times at the same venues. God how I miss those halcyon days of yore!”
