“Hello web site.
Firstly, I am a haslingden lad who grew up in Cape Town. In my reprobate youth in the 80’s, there was a band from ‘up north’ called Ricky and the Spitfires who used to play at a couple of pubs/ night spots in Cape Town. My myself and a my good mate (now deceased) Barry used to watch then loads…am sure they played inn on the square or I think the holiday inn at the top of town. They changed their name to the midnight stealers later. I wonder if it’s the same band. I spoke to then on a number of occasions and they certainly knew the Rostrons in eden field where I used to drink at one stage.. as Cher said…..if I could turn back time.”
