“I was at this gig, The Faces were late getting on stage because of a plane crash in London but they certainly made up for it, footballs in the crowd, Ronnie Wd running round like a madman and Ronnie Lane pissed up, a cracking night, can't remember who the support was though.”
“Billy Big Bottom played the Carlton late 1980's and did a song called Mick Middles doesn't like me, whilst Mr Middles was sat there. Also T'Challa Grid used have a step ladder on stage as a prop, anybody know why?”
“I was at this gig, Nicky Lockett, Dust Junkies were the support. The power failed and Huey told the audience to get a drink from the bar on the band, then laughed the bill off!, he also gave a couple in the audience a bottle of wine on stage, they had just got married.”
“By God, these were Welsh speaking punks who were described as being the Welsh, Clash!. I was running the club at the time and local musician Neale Tickle brought them to Salford to play. Great band couldn't understand a bloody word they were singing though, great to see this flyer, wish I had kept mine.”
“Bloody hell this was the Carlton Club on Cross Lane not Cross Street, Salford, I recall that Naked Music took over the club for the night,seem to recall it didn't go ahead either.”
“Saw this band at The Carlton Club on Cross Lane, Salford in about 1988-9, they had a cracking light show, also a great tune called The Sweetest Kiss, still got it on a cassette somewhere.
Anybody remember the short lived Carlton Club?”
“I got mine from a charridee shop as well!, they are works of art in my eyes, ideal for framing and hanging on the wall. Glad there is another weirdo out there! Keep collecting....”
