“This was never the old Stork Club , The Stork club was down off Market street , in a little alley next to Carlton Square, there was a little cinema,down there as well that shown porn movies (My Uncle told me about that),and the Stork was at the dead end of the alley if you went down another little alley just off there it came out into Cannon Street, a little futher down was Cromford Square, home to Paddy McGrath's Cromford Club”

“I was the Assisent Bar Manasger in the Portland Bars in 1966 , the Manager was Toby Randell ex British Airway's Cabin Steward , the portland bar was the pub -type bar in the photo and downstairs was the "Dive Bar" which in them days was a steak-bar with meals served till 9.00pm, We had the best bouncers in town , cos we paid a couiple of serving ,off duty police men for security any problems they would show their warrent cards The I left to work in London

“Boy in exile, please dont take this wrong ,and i am not being picky but you looking at the wron block of land ,the Hotel is where houses used to stand not the Southern, lets say if you stood with your back to the front door of the Imperial Pub on Birch , directly opposite would be the southern , now the land is the carwash of the garage that is set back off Hyde Rd , Oh just for the record that Pub , I used to go in with Myra Hindley the infamous Moors Murderess and a few of my other mates and today The cafe "Brenda's" is still there
