A gorgeous ink-stained, grubby postcard addressed to C Sillitoe from AG or AF - can't quite make out the notes there. It was kept by Ida Carroll, possibly because of the sheer saturation of musical puns. Sillitoe appears to have been a composer, and there's mention of Mary-Ann but she may have been a role played along with the Duke. Anyone know any info?

It's the Northern School of Music! Sat on the corner of Oxford Rd and Sydney Street this school trained hundreds of children and young people in music and music teaching practices from 1920-1972.

This could possibly be the 50th anniversary dinner of the Northern School of Music in 1970, with many of its staff and alumni. They celebrated it in a few ways - a thanksgiving service at St Ann's church in the city centre and then a lunch at the Midland Hotel. Does anyone recognise the space? Could it be the Midland?
