A bit of a mix in the scrapbook-like page. A wee bit about the planning for the Northern College of Music and to Northern School of Music recitals. At Houldsworth Hall there was a chamber music concert, featuring Stephen Denison, Roy Gerrard, Jean Soni, Dorothea Taylor, Terence Taylor, John O'Sullivan, Mary Gilmartin and Elizabeth Knight. For one of their famous Messiahs, it was conducted by Alan Cowell and featured John Hughes, Alfreda Hodgson, Albert Haskayne, Sylvia Birkby and Paul Buxton.

More press about the creation of the RNCM. It was a matter of resourcing - why fund 2 conservatoires when you can just smush them together and fund one. It was not as simple as that and took nearly 20 years to negotiate.
