Notes on the special meeting of guarantors held on September 15th 1914. Pages 3 & 4. This is part of a speech given by Chairman of the Halle Orchestra Society, Gustav Behrens, to the members of the society on September 14th 1914. It explains that the Society has a wish to continue performing concerts during the war and highlights the priority to keep the Hallé’s musicians in work. The musicians took half pay during the war to keep the Hallé’s finances afloat and any profits made were refunded back to them.
