Adolph Brodsky was a famous violinist and was invited by Sir Charles Halle to lead his orchestra, soon after he became the principal for the RMCM. Whilst living in Manchester he formed his second String Quartet, The Brodsky Quartet, who performed many concerts before and during the war. The Brodsky Quartet was very popular and many ticket holders were subscribers to the concerts, and would go on a regular basis, the proceeds of which would go to the RMCM and other good causes. Adolph Brodsky died in 1929.
