Advert for the Sisters of Mercy gig at University of London Union (ULU).This gig is notable for the attendance of some individuals who would soon become part of the Smiths set-up: Rough Trade’s publicist Scott Piering, Grant Showbiz who would become the band’s sound-engineer and John Walters, John Peel’s producer who, on the strength of their performance that night, offered them their first Peel session.

Ticket for The Smiths at the Cornish Colosseum on the 17th October 1986. I happened to know someone who worked there so got a guest ticket and pass. The plan was that I'd go backstage afterwards but due to some unforeseen events it never happened.

House Staff pass for The Smiths at the Cornish Colosseum on the 17th October 1986. Someone I knew worked there so got me a ticket and pass. Quite an experience as it was my first experience of The Smiths live. I was due to go backstage at the conclusion of the gig but due to some dressing room rearrangement antics by the support Raymonde it never happened.
