Bootleg opened in late 1979, It recorded loads of Manchester bands in the few years it was open including Alberto Y Los Trios, The Smirks, Freshies, Spider Mike King, Richard Derbyshire, V2, Karl Denver, CP Lee's Mystery Guild, The Ride, 48 Chairs, Bet Lynches Legs, Victim, John Dowie, Cpt Mogs and Private Sigh, Jimmy Hibbert, The Missing Heartbeat, and loads more.
I remember writing a poem for the Bootleg adverts and flyers:
When your listening late at night,
And your bands tape gives you a fright,
Before you Commit suicide,
To Bootleg Studios take a ride.
Inch tapes rolling through the night,
Bootlegs really out of sight,
Otari, Amek, DBX,
Recording here's as good as sex!!!
Wow, yah couldnt make it up, no wonder all the punks loved it. heh heh, also notice, "Two pubs and a chippy" added to the equipment list, Nah that isnt tape hiss man, thats just the chip pan next door leaking into yer cans.
