“"An I.C" is An Immaculate Conception which appeared on the Wake debut LP 'Harmony'. Chance was included on the Factory Benelux pressings only of the LP. Not too sure what "Some Now Are" and "Heavens Gate" refer to??”
“Some Now Are are a different band, they released a 7" in 1983 which was produced by Peter Hook - "recorded in Stockport, Manchester" (it says so on the sleeve; Strawberry, presumably). The b-side on that single is called "The Heaviest Gate". Perhaps these are the tracks on the actual reel?”
“At the time of this recording Some Now Are were a seven piece band. They supported The Smiths with this line up in the 1980s. They also supported New Order and The Stockholm Monsters amongst others in the 1980s as an electro 3 piece band. This looks like the Master tape from their second single A side "Truth to Tell" B Side "The Heaviest Gate", there was also a dub mix of the A side on the single. This was recorded at Strawberry Studios Stockport in 1983 and it was produced by Peter Hook who also did the drum machine programming, played electronic drum percussion on the B side and also added to the chant like vocal and clapping on the A side. Some Now Are also had another track that was produced by Peter Hook. This was titled "Begging You" This was recorded at Suite 16 in Rochdale again in the 1980s and was planned as a follow up single but was not released due to a lack of funds! Some Now Are also worked at Suite 16 on a number of other recordings in the 1980s with CJ and Rex engineering/producing.”
“The Peter Hook produced track ‘Begging You’ has recently been transferred from tape to digital and is now available for the first time on the new SNA release ‘Facienda’. The EP also includes a new version of Begging You featuring founder member Andrew Mahon.”
“Yes that's right Some Now Are have released Facienda a 5 track CD of new material and the original mix of "Begging You" which was recorded at Suite 16 with Peter Hook producing. Facienda includes Begging You, Everyone, Out of Order and Ship to shore.
Some Now Are will be playing some live dates in 2020.”
