“The Cavendish Building, on the south-west side of All Saints, played host to some great gigs in this era. U2 had just released the ‘Boy’ album (which Steve Lillywhite produced., although Martin Hannett was the band’s first choice); it was a midweek gig and approx 100 attended. More were there for The Cure later in the Autumn, four or five months after the release of the ‘Seventeen Seconds’ album.”
