Artefact

Record / CD / Tape
Thunderboys, Alan Adler, Chris Hall, Carmel Mccourt, Danny Daniels
1980

Thunderboys inner sleeve. Some notable members:

1. Carmel McCourt (centre right) - later to front the very successful band 'Carmel' together with Jim Parris and Gerry Derby. Hit singles More More More, Bad Day, the Drum is Everything, Sally, It's All in The Game. Occasionally produced by Brian Eno.

2. Danny Daniels (second from left, front) - joined up with Clive Parry-Jones, Mathew Vaughan, Chris Parsons and Chris Joyce, formerly of Wah during the early eighties to form Wild Honey. Experimenting with a more soulful and brassy sound, Daniels and Vaughan later released What Happened to our Love under the name of Faithful on Chrysalis Records (1988).

3. Alan Adler (centre) - designed the record sleeves, posters & promotional material for uberhip Manchester record label TJM Records and later went on to become one of the UK's top illustrators.

“Wow the Thunderboys.... I remember them coming into Arrow Studios.. Nice band... But they a huge argument between themselves in the studio during a 'meeting'!

They supported some name 'pop' band but didn't get paid as the others had spent the money on stage costumes! R'N'R.....not”
