After seeing Frank for the first time, the previous christmas in his native Timperley, my mate, Pete booked Frank to play at the Irish Club in Chorlton. It was a big success and a sell out. The venue had a noise limiter and every time Frank got too loud the power cut, which was about every 5 minutes-I think he incorporated it into his set to make it even more bizarre. Frank and his manager then wanted Pete to put him on at the Bridgewater, but the high costs involved were too prohibitive
