Dorothy Jasper (born 1936, Cheetham Hill) talks about The Mayfair Club on Oxford Road, her earliest recollection of a black club before the Reno and the Nile opened. She talks about being a 'shine girl' (mixed race) and her passion for early calypso sounds and jazz singers like Nat King Cole. She also touches on the difference between The Nile and The Reno from a woman's perspective.
