“My mum was a member of the Manchester Elementary Schools Choir
She used to talk to me and my two sisters about it when we were quite young however I didn't really take an interest unfortunately
My mum, Beatrix Garner died in 1976
I have just bought the Choir's photograph and would love to be able to pick her out
We have no photographs of either Mum or Dad when they were young
If anybody knew anybody who knew Beatrix Garner I would very much like to hear from them”
“The BBC is making a documentary with Victoria Wood about the making of 'That Day We Sang'. We're seeking family of the Manchester Children's Choir who sang on the 1929 Nymphs and Shepherds recording to help us with our research. We'd love to talk to anyone whos parents or grandparents were in the choir, and especially relatives of particualr choir members Stanley Rose, Bill and Lily Gee, Eileen Lynch and Joe McDermott. In the first instance it would just be a telephone conversation. Please get in contact on 07983 798995 or hilaryassistant@endorproductions.co.uk
Many thanks, Fiona.”
