My memories of this are a little hazy (hardly surprising as it was 38 years ago!!), but I do remember Rod Stewart bringing on stage one of his heroes (and mine) - Denis Law, which brought the house down.

“Yeah I was just approaching my seventeenth birthday and I remember Rod bringing the Lawman on stage and kicking a few footballs into the crowd. I think this was Ronnie Lane's last tour with the Faces.
I still have the souvenir postcard and discount voucher pack that was given out at the Hard Rock gig the following year. It's not really Manchester but I may post when my new scanner arrives.”

“I was at this gig, The Faces were late getting on stage because of a plane crash in London but they certainly made up for it, footballs in the crowd, Ronnie Wd running round like a madman and Ronnie Lane pissed up, a cracking night, can't remember who the support was though.”
