The first Doves US tour. A club in San Fran welcomes them, as seen on this flyer. Jimi Goodwin remembers;

"I loved the first U.S. Winter tour. It was really exciting to be touring America. We started at the Hard Rock Cafe in Miami. We were meant to be playing with Coldplay but one of them was ill so they didn't turn up. We didn't want to do that gig at all - it was part of some bullshit radio convention and we were told playing this could make the difference between selling a thousand or a million copies of the album. Really? There were poor tourists trying to eat their meals whilst we were soundchecking in the restaraunt. A glorified burger joint revelling on feeding off rocks' corpses! A good warm up gig I suppose! The next gig was the proper start of the tour, in Philadelphia. It was fantastic- a really vibing sweaty club. The crowd were great. That was our first gig with The Strokes who we thought were mega!"
