Other stuff in this issue:-Article on the fall-out of the Strangeway’s riots, with remand prisoners having to be shipped far afield in the aftermath, causing difficulties seeing their solicitors/ families etc...
Interview with Sean Hughes who I must have seen round this time at The Green Room; another comedian Ben Keaton too.
Double page interview with Ian Brown ‘n John Squire reflecting on their career thus far and the upcoming Spike Island bash. Mentions that at the first warehouse gig several years earlier, down London Rd, the Peelers turned up to call a halt to it about 6 a.m. but were given 2 crates of beer by the promoter, so sat outside drinking and turned a blind eye...
A review of Crispy Ambulance’s “Unhinged,Fin” on Factory Benelux and Happy Mondays Peel Sessions.
In the Classifieds, under Accomodation; seems the going rate for a shared house was around 30 quid.
At the flicks:-“Mystery Train” at The Aaben / “War of the Roses”,”Nuns on the Run” on general release.
