Artefact

Advert
Band On The Wall
21st November 1989

From City Life 136, Nov. '89. On behalf of the committee....
"Keep music live" along with "home taping is killing music" seemed to be recurring catch cries of the '80's, portending times to come, the likes of which the union's rank and file couldn't have imagined in their wildest dreams/ nightmares.
An old mate and D.J. round town of the jazzy funky vinyl persuasion was telling me recently something along the lines of "you can remember the first record you bought but you won't remember your first download..." or something like that; don't know if it's some oft used line but as I've yet to attempt downloading anything I'll just have to wait to find out if it's true....
Oh yeah, first record I ever bought "Masters of Rock", Canned Heat, 1973 and I still give it a whirl from time to time,so that semi proves his point....
