Well I doubt it was any of us.Inside, the likes of Roland Bardsley, Martin Edwards, Mr. Ferranti (ta for the nightshift work in '78 Sebastiane. I owe you one...), and the controversial Eddie Shah who got shafted by everybody's favourite villian,untruth sayer and tax dodger of the hour, one R. Murdoch. A.O. Nothing funny about peace, love and understanding but the thought of the reprise of Madame Guillotine for certain parties doesn't seem so abhorant to me right now, hanging being too good for them and all.(Sudden recollection of a young lad from Eastenders who topped himself around this time, after being hounded by one of his rags no doubt;one of countless innocent "victims" of this amoral svengali, past master exponent of the lowest common denominator , and all-round harbinger of doom.....(that's me off the Christmas card list).Big up to that defender of democracy and bastion of free speech, The Manchester Guardian, for its dogged perseverance in all of this.Along with the whole Wikileaks affair, as the old Chinese proverb goes, we're certainly living in "interesting" times; euphemistically speaking of course......
At a time when quintessentially English chanteuses ,the likes of Liz Frazer and Tracey Thorn, were to the fore, you have to admire Julia Fordham for at least trying...
